So this is a very overdue post. It was supposed to go up on April 14th. Needless to say I’ve been a very busy woman and I have not gotten to it. I sort of missed the boat on this one but I figure I’d still attempt to swim to shore instead of sitting idly in the water waiting to sink.
I was invited by a very inspiring woman, Suzi Banks Baum of
Laundry Line Divine, to participate in a blog tour. The focus of this is to explore my process and what drives me to keep writing.
What am I working on?
I am always working on something, I have more projects than I probably should. At the moment I am most focused on spending more time writing here on my blog about the things that truly matter most to me, and for
Blog Trends where I get the opportunity to connect and help network and educate bloggers every day.
How does my work differ from others of its genre?
I am not sure that I really belong to any genre, if I did I suppose the majority of my writing is focused on parenting. What makes me different is that I am not writing so much about how to be a parent, but more about what being a parent has taught me and enabled me to do in life. I come from a background full of challenges and happy moments that becoming a parent has helped me to better understand, embrace, and learn from in new ways. I really enjoy sharing some of these discoveries here on my blog.
Why do I write what I do?
I love to share the things I do because I really hope that my words will help someone that has been in, or is currently in, a similar situation or just needs some words of encouragement. People tend to focus so much on what they don’t have or what they can’t do that I try to turn that around a bit and discuss how some of what we think we’re missing out on is shaping us to become great people and even better parents.
How does my writing process work?
As you can tell from how late this post is, my process is totally centered around inspiration. I write when a topic or idea inspires me to do so. I typically start with a main idea and then I just write without stopping to correct too much. I get all of my emotions out and then go back to refine what I’ve written so that my message is easy to follow, clear, and hopefully worth reading.
This is the point of the post where I will be passing the torch onto some other bloggers. However because I’m so late getting to this I have to check on how to move forward. So stay tuned to fine out who to follow next.
Kaitlyn! You are such a wonderful warm presence online and in person, even warmer! I love that you got to this post in your perfect time. This is what you bring to all you do- a real time brilliance that shines in to the world. So glad you jumped on this blog tour! xoox S
